In 1625 there are Oxmans in Bodmin, Cornwall. There are numerous other Oxmans in Cornwall. The name seems to be confused at times with the Oxnam name, which appears to originate in the St Columb area of Cornwall possibly as a variation of the Oxenham name. There was a tin mine called Oxman's Stamps near St Just and St Ives (OS grid ref SW 390/355) in Cornwall Some Oxmans are decended from Oxnams and at least one current group of Oxmans were called Oxnam as recently as the early 1900s.
