Poster from c.1908 Henry Oxman had his shop in Fleet St, London in 1908/9. This poster was reconstructed from fragments of several posters found in an attic nearly 90 years after. All parts are from one of the posters except the first "G" in Gas Fittings which I had to recreate from the first "C" in Main Cocks.
Chesterton, Jones & Co Walsall Manufacturers of Gas Fittings, Main cocks, Incandesoliers, Church work etc etc. London Agent : H J Oxman, Show rooms : 129 & 130 Fleet St, corner of Shoe Lane, London EC
Prior to running the shop in Fleet St, Henry Oxman was joint Managing Director with E Johns Powell of the Exhibition of Trades and Industries, one of which took place from 4th to 14th February 1896 at the Winter Hall, Leamington Spa. It is believed that these two photographs are of one of these exhibitions Henry John Oxman (back row far left)
