Tiffins School for Boys Object of the School, - The School was opened in 1880, with accommodation for 150 pupils, to provide at a moderate cost, an education suited to the modern requirements of Commercial and professional life. The buildings have been enlarged from time to time, and now contain class rooms for 375 pupils, two large and well-equipped science laboratories, and a science lecture room. The Course of Instruction, which has been approved by the London University, the Board of Education, and the London Chamber of Commerce, comprises:-
Under the provisions of the scheme of the Surrey County Council, the work of the whole School is inspected by the Board of Education and the London University; and boys who have reached the highest form are entered for the London Matriculation Examination without payment of the usual fees. Boys who intend to take up engineering, or any other scientific career, are strongly advised to pass the Matriculation Examiination before leaving School. The Matriculation Certificate is accepted in lieu of the special preliminary examinations by -
The School course also covers the requirements of the Civil Service and London Chamber of Commerce Examinations. Fees. - On Registration and Admission. 5s; Tuition (covering above Course of Instrucion), £2 per term.
Writing, Drawing and Class Materials, and all Books required for School and Home-work are supplied at a charge of 5s or 4s a term, according to the boys position in the School. Extra Subject (optional), - Piano 21s per term ALL PAYMENTS MUST BE MADE IN ADVANCE |
